How mature is your AI?

Answer 8 questions and find out what level of artificial intelligence maturity your company is at, with tailored recommendations and your priority focus areas. Indicative, in three minutes.

Why it matters

Know where you stand before investing.

Most companies do not fail for lack of tools, but for starting in the wrong place. Measuring your AI maturity across strategy, data, talent, processes and governance tells you what to move first so the investment pays off.

The assessment

Measure your maturity in 8 questions.

01 · Strategy What role does AI play in the company’s strategy?
02 · Use cases Where are your AI use cases right now?
03 · Data How ready is your data to feed AI?
04 · Technology What technical foundation do you have for integrating AI?
05 · Talent What level of AI competence does the team have?
06 · Processes How much of your repetitive work is automated?
07 · Governance How do you manage AI risk and compliance?
08 · Measurement Do you measure AI’s impact on the business?

This assessment is indicative and does not constitute a formal audit. The classification depends on the answers provided and serves to place the company and set priorities. For a detailed evaluation, let us talk about your specific case.

The five levels

From the starting line to optimisation.

Level 1 · Initial

Score 8–13

AI is not yet part of the company in any structured way. It is the perfect starting point for gaining ground fast with simple, low-risk cases.

Level 2 · Exploration

Score 14–18

There is curiosity and the odd experiment, but nothing consolidated in production. The challenge now is turning trials into stable, repeatable results.

Level 3 · Adoption

Score 19–23

You already have AI delivering value in production. The goal becomes scaling in an orderly way: more cases, better data governance and risk control.

Level 4 · Scaling

Score 24–28

AI is integrated into key operations and its impact is measured. You are in a position to industrialise the practice and capture competitive advantage.

Level 5 · Optimisation

Score 29–32

AI is part of the core business, with mature data, talent and governance. The focus is continuous improvement and exploring the frontier safely.

Common questions

What we get asked most.

What is a company’s AI maturity?

It is the degree to which an organisation uses artificial intelligence in a useful and sustainable way: not only which tools it uses, but its strategy, its data, its talent, its processes, its governance and its ability to measure impact. It is usually expressed in levels, from initial to optimised.

How is the level calculated in this assessment?

You answer one question for each of the 8 dimensions. Each answer adds 1 to 4 points and the total (from 8 to 32) places your company in one of the 5 maturity levels. We also flag the weakest dimensions as priority focus areas.

Is this a valid and definitive assessment?

It is an indicative tool for placing your company and setting priorities. A formal assessment requires going into the detail of every process, data source and system. It works as a starting point and as the basis for a concrete conversation.

I run an SME — does this make sense for me?

Yes. It is precisely in SMEs in Álava and Spain that well-chosen first steps produce the biggest return: simple cases, tidy data and repetitive processes automated. The assessment helps you know where to start without overspending.

What do I do with the result?

The result gives you the level, recommendations for reaching the next one and your priority focus areas. From there you can act on your own or book a 30-minute session to turn it into a concrete plan.
